Blackmagic Camera App 1.1 Expands Support to More Android Devices

Blackmagic Design has released an updated version of its Android app, Blackmagic Camera 1.1, which now supports a broader range of devices, including the Google Pixel 6 series, OnePlus 11 and 12 series, Samsung Galaxy S21 and S22 series, and Xiaomi 13 and 14 series. The update introduces several new features such as HDMI monitoring support, pull focus transition controls, and support for Blackmagic Cloud for Organizations. Additionally, users can now utilize 3D LUTs during recording and monitoring for advanced color grading and apply image retouching tools like noise reduction and sharpening to their footage.

The app, which is built on the same operating system as Blackmagic’s digital film cameras, allows content creators to use professional-grade tools previously exclusive to high-end productions. It also includes integration with DaVinci Resolve for seamless editing and cloud services, enabling global collaboration with editors and colorists. Notable improvements include the ability to store clips to external storage, and an option to not generate a proxy while recording. The updated app is available for free on the Google Play Store, with a more capable version offered for $295. However, support for foldable phones like the Pixel Fold remains unavailable.
