Xbox Live Servers Experience Widespread Downtime

Microsoft's Xbox Live network experienced technical difficulties on Tuesday afternoon, leading to thousands of users reporting problems accessing the service. The issues began around 2:15 p.m. ET, as per monitoring site Downdetector, which logged over 23,000 outage reports. A significant majority of these reports indicated problems with logging in. Other Microsoft-operated services, such as Minecraft and the Microsoft Store, also saw a surge in user error reports.

Despite the high volume of complaints, the official Xbox status page showed no current issues with the services. The official Xbox Support account on X acknowledged the disconnections and stated that the company is investigating the matter. Some users reported seeing an error message indicating "scheduled maintenance," which added to the confusion. Microsoft aims to resolve the issue promptly, especially with increased usage anticipated over the 4th of July weekend.
