Windows 11 to Integrate Android Phones into File Explorer

Microsoft is testing a new feature that allows users to access their Android phone's files directly within Windows 11’s File Explorer. This feature, available to Windows Insiders, requires an Android device running version 11 or higher and the beta version of the Link to Windows app. The integration enables users to browse, copy, move, rename, and delete files on their Android phone from their PC.

The feature is being rolled out across all four Windows Insider channels, including the Release Preview ring. Users can enable it by navigating to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Mobile Devices and managing the device connections. Known issues include discrepancies in file deletion processes, such as files being moved to a new trash folder on the smartphone that may not appear in File Explorer. The feature is expected to become available to all Windows 11 users in the near future.
