Samsung Launches Galaxy A55 and A35 with New Features and Affordable Prices

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G smartphones, positioned as affordable yet feature-rich options within their product lineup. Both devices boast a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a shared 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging support. They differ in build materials, with the A55 featuring a plastic frame as opposed to the A45's metal construction.

Camera capabilities are a highlight for both models, with a 32MP selfie shooter and a set of rear cameras including a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro lens. The A55 introduces eSIM technology to the A Series, complementing its dual SIM capability, and both models feature Samsung Knox Vault, a secure environment for protecting sensitive data.

Samsung promises four years of major OS updates and five years of security patches, although this falls short of the seven years offered by some of its flagship counterparts. The A55 5G and A35 5G are expected to hit the market at a starting price of $699 and $549 respectively in the US, while in Europe, the A35 starts at €379 and the A55 at €479 for the base variants, with a higher-priced A55 variant offering increased RAM and storage. Pre-orders in select markets may include free Galaxy Buds FE as an incentive, and the phones will become available in various colors from March 2024.
