Planet Coaster 2 Debuts Fall With Water Parks and New Features

Frontier Developments has announced the upcoming release of Planet Coaster 2, a sequel to their popular theme park management game. Set for a fall 2024 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game introduces significant new features, including fully customizable water parks with flumes, pools, and an inflatable shop. Players can now integrate water attractions into their park builds and utilize new tools for creating themed areas and wider paved pathways.

Planet Coaster 2 offers three engaging game modes: Career, Franchise, and Sandbox. The new installment will allow players to design and manage their parks with more intricate detail, including the ability to create themed guest plazas, animatronic shows, and interactive events. New management features include maintaining clean water systems and ensuring rides have power, with lifeguards and clean water generators adding to the realism.

The sequel also expands creative possibilities with the introduction of a pool construction tool and flume rides. Enhanced customization options allow players to adjust ride colors, patterns, and themes. The game will feature an interactive event sequencer tool for creating dynamic shows and events. Additionally, players can visit other users' parks and compete on the Franchise leaderboard, adding a competitive element to the gameplay.

Planet Coaster 2 is set to build on the success of its predecessor, which has sold 2.5 million copies since its original launch in 2016. Frontier Developments plans to host monthly livestreams on Twitch to discuss the game's progress and features leading up to its release.
