LG Sinha Highlights Academic Startups as Key to J&K's Economic Growth

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the National Seminar on the ‘Role of Academic-Driven Startups in Developing Economy of J&K (RASE 2024) at NIT Srinagar, India. In his keynote address, Sinha emphasized the transformative potential of academic-driven startups in fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within educational institutions. He commended the initiative for creating an environment that inspires, empowers, and connects academia and industry, mentoring students to lead startup ecosystems.

Sinha urged aspiring entrepreneurs to adopt a 'Problem First' approach rather than a 'Product First' mindset, to accelerate economic development and encourage an entrepreneurial spirit among young students. He also called for enhanced collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers to develop a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. The two-day seminar, organized by NIT Srinagar in association with the Department of Holistic Education, Central University of Kashmir, ICAR CITH, Science & Technology Department, and SKUAST-Kashmir, aims to inspire universities and colleges to invest in future talents for impactful innovations.
