Google Upgrades Chromebook Plus with New Gemini AI Features
Google has unveiled a new line of Chromebook Plus laptops powered by its Gemini AI technology, in collaboration with manufacturers such as Acer, Asus, and HP. These laptops, designed to enhance productivity and accessibility, come with features such as "Help Me Write" for text generation, Magic Editor in Google Photos for photo editing, and an AI-focused accessibility feature that allows users to move the cursor with their face. The new Chromebooks can generate AI-based wallpapers and have improved video conferencing capabilities. Prices for the new Chromebook Plus models range from $349 to $699.
The new devices include updates to existing models like Acer's Chromebook Plus Spin 714 and Chromebook Plus 516 GE, which feature new Intel processors, enhanced RAM, and better storage options. Asus has also introduced the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus, and a 2-in-1 CM30 model. These models are equipped with various screen sizes and resolutions, including high-refresh-rate displays and advanced front cameras.
In addition to hardware enhancements, the Chromebook Plus series integrates AI functionalities such as Gemini, which helps in writing Yelp reviews and stimulating thought processes. The laptops offer industry-leading security, Google apps, and up to 10 hours of battery life. Google is also providing new Chromebook Plus owners with 12 months of free access to the Google One AI Premium plan, which includes advanced Gemini features and 2 TB of storage.
These new AI-powered features aim to provide users with more intuitive and efficient tools for their daily tasks.
