AEW Chief Operating Officer, Kosha Irby, has expressed dissatisfaction with the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa, labeling the venue as "subpar" in a social media post. This criticism came in the context of the June 8 episode of AEW Collision on TNT, where Irby praised the fans and the city but singled out the venue for its quality. When a fan suggested that Irby might have meant to write "superb" instead, Irby reiterated his stance with a GIF stating, "I said what I said!"
The episode, which featured matches such as Orange Cassidy vs. Kyle O'Reilly and FTR vs. Blackpool Combat Club, still managed to draw 348,000 viewers. The Mid-America Center, owned by the City of Council Bluffs and operated by Caesars Entertainment, was hosting its first AEW event, with over 2,000 tickets distributed. The company has not publicly commented on Irby's remarks.
