Wheelchair-bound Man Fatally Struck by Pickup in North Las Vegas
In North Las Vegas, a collision involving a pickup truck and a wheelchair user resulted in a fatality near Owens Avenue and Main Street at approximately 11:15 a.m. The man using the wheelchair, believed to be in his 50s, was struck by a Ford F-350 truck. He was subsequently transported to the University Medical Center's Trauma unit, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities have indicated that the driver of the Ford F-350 remained at the scene following the incident. Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that neither speed nor impairment were contributing factors in the crash. The Clark County Coroner's Office will be responsible for determining the official cause and manner of death, as well as releasing the identity of the deceased individual.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is currently seeking information from potential witnesses as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
