U Mobile and Edotco Partner to Fast-Track 5G Rollout
U Mobile Sdn Bhd and Edotco Malaysia have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the deployment of the 5G network in Malaysia under the government's dual network model. The collaboration aims to leverage Edotco’s extensive tower infrastructure and expertise to facilitate the rapid and efficient rollout of the second 5G system. U Mobile will gain access to Edotco's tower sites, resource readiness, and expedited site delivery.
The partnership also includes developing a streamlined process using artificial intelligence and data-driven analytics to identify optimal tower locations and structures, enabling faster site acquisition and approvals. Additionally, U Mobile and Edotco will discuss commercial arrangements for various infrastructure needs, such as built-to-suit sites, co-locations, site upgrades, and indoor coverage. This initiative is aligned with Malaysia's mandate for dual 5G networks, which aims to foster healthy competition in the telecommunications sector and ensure affordable and quality 5G services for consumers, businesses, and the public sector.
