Trump to Speak to Evangelicals Seeking National Abortion Ban

Donald Trump is set to address a group of politically influential evangelicals who advocate for a national abortion ban. This evangelical movement, a key part of Trump's base, is expected to play a significant role in mobilizing voters for his anticipated rematch with Democratic President Joe Biden in November. While Trump has previously expressed opposition to a nationwide abortion ban, citing potential political harm to Republicans, the evangelical leaders continue to push for such a measure.

Ralph Reed, founder and chairman of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, stated that his movement desires a federal abortion ban and expects Republican elected officials to represent their pro-life views. Reed's group plans to mobilize support for Trump and other Republicans in battleground states through voter outreach efforts. Several Republicans considered potential running mates for Trump are also participating in the conference.
