Tinubu Names New FCT Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries

In a recent move to bolster the administrative framework of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed a series of key appointments. Following nominations by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, the President has approved Engr. Emeka Ezeh as the Chairman of the newly established FCT Civil Service Commission (CSC). Accompanying Ezeh's appointment, six commissioners representing the six geopolitical zones have also been appointed to the commission.

In addition to the commission's leadership, Atang Udo Samuel, previously the most senior director in the FCT Administration, has been appointed as the pioneer Head of the Civil Service for the FCT. This decision comes as part of a larger initiative to fill vacancies and strengthen the FCTA's bureaucratic structure.

Furthermore, ten Permanent Secretaries have been selected to oversee the nine Secretariats of the FCTA, based on a combination of competence and geographical representation. The appointed officials are set to be sworn in on March 18, 2024, marking a significant restructuring of the FCTA's civil service leadership.
