STEPN and Adidas Collaborate on NFT Sneaker Line

STEPN, the Web3 lifestyle app known for its "move-to-earn" concept, has announced a partnership with global sportswear brand adidas. Together, they are launching a limited collection of non-fungible token (NFT) sneakers called the STEPN x adidas Genesis Sneakers. The collection comprises 1,000 NFTs inspired by adidas's iconic running shoe designs, co-branded with STEPN’s lightning bolt logo alongside adidas’ signature three stripes. These digital collectibles are minted on the Solana blockchain and will be available for purchase through STEPN's sister NFT marketplace, MOOAR, starting April 17.

The collaboration between STEPN and adidas is part of a broader one-year partnership agreement, which promises additional NFT drops and physical products. It reflects STEPN's strategy to expand its influence in the move-to-earn sector, aiming to encourage physical activity and engage both brands' Web3 communities. The partnership also follows a substantial airdrop to the STEPN community, which distributed tokens with an estimated value of $30 million.

The STEPN x adidas Genesis Sneakers will be priced at 10,000 GMT, STEPN's native token, equivalent to about $3,000 at the time of the announcement. This partnership marks another foray by adidas into the digital asset space, as the brand has previously collaborated with other Web3 entities and notable brands such as Coinbase, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and Bugatti. For STEPN, this follows earlier partnerships, including one with Asics in 2022.
