Stars Swinton and Moore Bring Almodóvar Film to Venice Festival

Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar is returning to the Venice Film Festival with his English-language debut, "The Room Next Door." The film, starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore, will have its world premiere on the Lido in the evening. The narrative centers on two estranged friends who initially met in their youths at a magazine job and later reunited after years apart.

This marks Almodóvar's return to Venice following his 2021 appearance with "Parallel Mothers," a film for which Penelope Cruz won the best actress prize. Almodóvar praised the performances of the actors and the support of the crew in his latest project. "The Room Next Door" is set to compete at the 81st edition of the festival, and Sony Pictures Classics will release it in theaters in December.
