Dang Tien Lam, a 6-year-old boy from Yen Bai Province, Vietnam, was found alive after being lost in the forest for five days. Lam had gone missing on August 17 after leaving a meal with his siblings at a relative's house. A search effort involving over 200 people, including police officers, soldiers, militia members, and local volunteers, was conducted. Farmer Ly Van Nang discovered Lam, who was exhausted and hungry, in a bush without food or water for days. Lam was reunited with his parents and taken to a local medical station for a health check-up.

In Commerce Township, a 14-year-old boy with autism was rescued from a swamp after disappearing during a church group trip. The boy had run off while on a hiking trail in Proud Lake State Recreation Area. Authorities launched a search after receiving a 911 call and found him in a remote area more than a mile off-trail.
