Saudi Leaders and Global Figures Congratulate Iran's Newly Elected President

Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory in Iran's presidential election. This follows a landmark deal in 2023 to restore diplomatic ties between the two nations after a seven-year dispute. King Salman expressed his support for the development of bilateral relations and coordination to enhance regional and international security and peace. The Crown Prince also emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the two countries.

In addition to Saudi Arabia, other world leaders have extended their congratulations to Pezeshkian. Leaders from Russia, Syria, Pakistan, Iraq, and several other countries have acknowledged his election victory. Pezeshkian, a reformist and a former deputy Parliament speaker, won with 53.66% of the votes in the runoff election, succeeding Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash in May. The Korean government also expressed hopes for improved relations and regional stability under Pezeshkian's leadership.
