Saudi Arabia to Host Inaugural International AI Olympiad

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is set to host the inaugural international edition of the International AI Olympiad (IAIO) from September 8-12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event will see participation from approximately 25 countries and is organized in collaboration with the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) and the International Research Center for AI (IRCAI) in Slovenia, under the auspices of UNESCO. SDAIA aims to establish IAIO as a premier platform for AI competitions, nurturing talent and fostering skill development in the field of artificial intelligence.

The competition is structured over two days, with the first day focusing on scientific questions and the second day dedicated to solving scientific problems using AI technologies. The event aligns with Saudi Arabia's objectives to elevate its global standing in data and AI, as well as to contribute to the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. By hosting this event, SDAIA aims to raise awareness about the significance of advanced technologies and equip communities with essential knowledge and skills.
