Samsung's Slimmer Galaxy Z Fold 6 Launching in China This Fall

Samsung is preparing to launch a new variant of its Galaxy Z Fold6 series, named the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim, which will be rebranded as the Samsung W25 in China. The device is expected to be lighter, thinner, and feature a larger display than its predecessor, the regular Z Fold6. Unlike previous models, the Slim variant will lack S Pen support due to the removal of the digitizer layer on its main display. It will be powered by an Exynos chipset, differing from the Snapdragon processors used in Samsung’s global models.

According to tipster Ice Universe on X, the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim is slated for an October release, though it will not be part of the upcoming July Unpacked event. The device will have a premium titanium frame, aligning with Samsung's strategy to offer a more portable and pocketable foldable phone. While initially set for a Chinese market release under the name W25, it is unclear if it will also be available globally. This launch may reflect Samsung’s approach to cater to the demand for slimmer and more affordable foldable devices amidst growing competition from brands like Xiaomi, HONOR, and OPPO.
