Samsung Galaxy Ring to Rival Premium Wearables with Price and Subscription

Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch the Galaxy Ring, a new wearable device, at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10, 2024. Leaks suggest that the Galaxy Ring will be priced between $300 and $350 in the US and around Rs. 35,000 in India. This pricing positions it as a competitor to the Oura Ring 3, which starts at $299. The Galaxy Ring is expected to feature a range of health tracking capabilities, including heart rate, SpO2 (blood oxygen), sleep, blood pressure, and physical activities. Additionally, it will be available in three color options.

There is speculation about a potential monthly subscription for the Galaxy Ring, estimated to be under $10 in the US, although Samsung has not officially confirmed this. The subscription model would be a departure from Samsung's current approach, as the Galaxy Watch 6 does not require a subscription for health features. However, Samsung has indicated that it is considering a subscription service for its Samsung Health app, pending improvements in its capabilities and insights. Alongside the Galaxy Ring, Samsung is also expected to launch other wearable devices, including the Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Time 7 Ultra, later this year.
