Romanian Police Raid Andrew Tate's Home Amid Trafficking Allegations

Romanian police have conducted fresh raids on the home of internet influencer Andrew Tate as part of an ongoing investigation by the anti-organized crime agency DIICOT. The investigation is focused on allegations of human trafficking, trafficking of minors, sexual intercourse with a minor, influencing statements, and money laundering. Tate, along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian women, was initially arrested in 2022 near Bucharest and formally indicted last year. All four suspects deny the allegations.

The recent raids come amid new allegations involving minors. Tate's spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu, mentioned that the charges are not yet fully clarified but confirmed the presence of the legal team during the search. In July, a Romanian court of appeal overturned a previous ruling that had allowed the Tate brothers to leave Romania while awaiting trial. The court had earlier determined that the case met the legal criteria for trial, although no date has been set.
