Riverview Woman Arrested for Threatening to Kill Governor Ron DeSantis

Danyele Callaway, a 20-year-old woman from Riverview, Florida, has been arrested for allegedly making online death threats against Governor Ron DeSantis. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement alerted the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office after receiving threatening messages from Callaway, which included life-threatening statements and a request for an immediate in-person meeting. Callaway is facing charges of Written or Electronic Threat to Kill or Inflict Bodily Injury.

Callaway has a history of interactions with law enforcement, including previous arrests for domestic violence-related charges and battery on public servants. Sheriff Chad Chronister emphasized that the sheriff's office will not tolerate violent threats and will continue to pursue those who disrupt community safety. Callaway is currently being held without bond under the Baker Act at the Orient Road Jail.
