Remy Ma's Son Arrested and Charged with NYC Murder
Jayson Scott, the 23-year-old son of Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the 2021 shooting of Darius Guillebeaux in Queens, New York. The charges stem from the fatal incident on June 7, 2021, in which the 47-year-old victim was gunned down in broad daylight. Alongside Scott, 22-year-old Richard Swygert has also been charged with first-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment.
Scott was already in police custody for possession of a loaded gun when he was arrested for the 2021 homicide, with DNA evidence linking him to the crime. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, though police are exploring various possibilities, including a dispute over a drug case. The arraignment is scheduled to take place in Queens County court, and both men are being held without bail. Remy Ma has not yet issued a public statement regarding her son's arrest.
