Netflix is set to release "Shirley," a biopic featuring Regina King in the role of Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman elected to the United States Congress. The film is slated for global release on the platform on March 22. King not only stars in the title role but also co-produced the movie alongside her sister Reina King. Directed by John Ridley, who also penned the screenplay, the biopic's ensemble cast includes Lance Reddick, Lucas Hedges, Terrence Howard, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Christina Jackson, among others. The film delves into Chisholm's historic bid for the presidency and her influence on politics and representation.
