Queen Camilla Attends to King Charles Post-Prostate Surgery

King Charles recently underwent a surgical procedure for an enlarged prostate and is currently recuperating. Following the surgery, Queen Camilla visited him at The London Clinic, making three visits within a 24-hour period. Despite the need to delay several royal engagements due to his condition, the King is reported to be in good health and is expected to resume his official duties after a period of rest.

In an effort to raise public awareness, King Charles made his diagnosis public, which has led to increased attention towards prostate health. His openness about the condition is credited with encouraging men to get checked for prostate issues. Notably, approximately one-third of men over 50 experience symptoms related to prostate health. The procedure the King underwent is not anticipated to necessitate any temporary adjustments to the constitutional responsibilities of his role as head of state. There will be no need for the appointment of "counsellors of state," who are designated to fill in for the monarch in cases of severe illness. Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales, who is receiving treatment for an unrelated condition at the same hospital, is expected to take a break from public duties until after the Easter holiday.
