PM Modi and Biden Discuss Ukraine Conflict and Bangladesh Unrest in Phone Call
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden recently held a telephone conversation to discuss various regional and global issues, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the situation in Bangladesh. Both leaders reiterated their support for the early return of peace and stability in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. The conversation came shortly after Modi's visit to Poland and Ukraine, during which he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The two leaders also expressed their concerns over the recent unrest in Bangladesh, highlighting the need for the early restoration of normalcy and the safety and security of minorities, particularly Hindus. This marks the first time the two leaders have addressed the situation in Bangladesh following the resignation and flight of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Additionally, Modi and Biden reviewed the progress in bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in multilateral fora, including the Quad, aiming to benefit both countries and humanity.
