Pirates of the Caribbean Actor Tamayo Perry Dies in Hawaii Shark Attack

Tamayo Perry, a well-known surfer, lifeguard, and actor, has died following a shark attack near the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. The incident occurred on Sunday off Goat Island, also known as Mokuauia, where Perry was surfing. The Honolulu Emergency Services Department received a call around 1 p.m. reporting multiple shark bites. Despite immediate rescue efforts, Perry was pronounced dead at the scene.

Perry had been a lifeguard with Honolulu Ocean Safety since 2016 and was a prominent figure in the surfing community, having competed in the Pipeline Master Trials. He also appeared in several films and television shows, including "Blue Crush," "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," and "Hawaii Five-O." Tributes have poured in from officials and community members, with Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi and Acting Ocean Safety Chief Kurt Lager highlighting Perry's dedication and impact as a legendary waterman and respected professional. Following the attack, shark warnings have been posted in the area by Ocean Safety officials.
