Nicolas Cage Confirmed for Amazon's Spider-Man Noir Series

Nicolas Cage is set to star in a live-action series adaptation of the Marvel comic character Spider-Man Noir. The series, which will air domestically on MGM+'s linear channel before being available globally on Prime Video, is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. It will mark Cage's first regular television role since 1981 and his return to the character following his voice role in the animated "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse."

Set in the gritty backdrop of 1930s New York, the series will follow an aging private investigator who grapples with his history as a masked superhero. The show is being helmed by Emmy-winning director Harry Bradbeer, who will direct the first two episodes, and will be executive produced by Oren Uziel, Steve Lightfoot, Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Cage himself.

The announcement of "Noir" comes as part of a larger collaboration between Prime Video and Sony, which includes the development of "Silk: Spider Society." A release date for the "Noir" series has yet to be determined.
