New 'Hunger Games' Novel 'Sunrise on the Reaping' to Launch Next Year

Suzanne Collins is set to release a new novel titled "Sunrise on the Reaping," which draws inspiration from an 18th-century Scottish philosopher and addresses the modern issue of misinformation. This fifth installment in her acclaimed "Hunger Games" series will be published by Scholastic in 2025. The narrative is set during the reaping of the Fiftieth Hunger Games, occurring 24 years before the events of the original "Hunger Games" novel, which debuted in 2008, and 40 years after her most recent book, "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes."

All four previous books in the series have been adapted into movies, contributing to a multibillion-dollar franchise for Lionsgate. The "Hunger Games" series has seen significant commercial success, with over 100 million copies sold and translations in numerous languages. The announcement of this new novel adds to the anticipation and enduring popularity of the dystopian series.
