Man Kills Girlfriend's Relative with Brick, Dumps Body in Refuge

Tevin Terrell Semien, 29, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm in connection with the death of 68-year-old Karon "Dinkers" Conneywerdy Smith. Smith's body was discovered at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma in 2023. Semien, who has a prior felony conviction, confessed to intentionally killing Smith with a brick, following a request from his girlfriend, Nicole Leigh Logsdon, due to a personal dispute with the victim.

Logsdon, 24, pleaded guilty in January to being an accessory after the fact to murder. She admitted to aiding Semien in his efforts to elude law enforcement, which culminated in a high-speed chase that ended with a crash in Texas. Both Semien and Logsdon now face significant prison sentences; Semien is facing the possibility of life in federal prison, while Logsdon could be sentenced to up to 15 years.
