Lilly Promotes Lucas Montarce to EVP and CFO

Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly) has appointed Lucas Montarce as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately. Montarce, who joined Lilly in 2001, has held various finance leadership roles, including group vice president, corporate controller, and global CFO of Lilly Research Laboratories, Lilly International, and Elanco Health. Most recently, he served as president and general manager for the Spain, Portugal, and Greece hub.

This appointment follows the resignation of former CFO Anat Ashkenazi in June. Montarce holds a bachelor's degree in business accounting from Catholic University (Argentina) and a master's degree from the Center for Macroeconomic Studies of Argentina. CEO David A. Ricks expressed confidence in Montarce's capabilities, highlighting his drive, curiosity, and integrity. Shares of Eli Lilly rose 1.3% to $914.58 in premarket trading following the announcement.
