Kia Recalls 460,000 U.S. Telluride SUVs Over Fire Hazard

Kia America is recalling over 460,000 Telluride SUVs in the United States due to a fire risk associated with the front power seat motor. The recall affects vehicles manufactured between January 9, 2019, and May 29, 2024. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has identified that the issue stems from a stuck power seat slide knob, which can cause the motor to overheat and potentially result in a fire.

To address the problem, Kia dealers will install a bracket for the power seat switch back covers and replace the seat slide knobs at no cost to vehicle owners. Kia has reported that there have been no injuries, crashes, or fatalities linked to this issue.
