Eduard Ratnikov, founder of the TCI concert agency, denied earlier reports that West had signed a contract to perform on June 8.
West's visit coincides with the birthday celebration of his friend, Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy, which has led to further speculation about the purpose of his trip. Despite the excitement among fans, Luzhniki Stadium, where he was rumored to perform, has not confirmed any concert plans.
