The anime adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto's manga Kaiju No. 8 has been confirmed for a sequel following the conclusion of its first season. The announcement, made via a teaser, revealed that Koki Uchiyama will join the cast as Gen Narumi, the First Division Captain. Although specific details about the release date of the second season are not yet available, it is expected to stream on Crunchyroll upon its return.
The first season of Kaiju No. 8, which aired from April 2024 and ended in June 2024, garnered significant popularity and positive reviews for its visuals and character development. The anime, produced by Production I.G, is based on Matsumoto's manga serialized in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ and available in English through VIZ Media. The manga has seen substantial success, with 14 million copies in circulation as of June 2024.
The voice cast for the series includes Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka Hibino, Asami Seto as Mina Ashiro, Wataru Katou as Reno Ichikawa, Fairouz Ai as Kikoru Shinomiya, and Kengo Kawanishi as Soshiro Hoshina.
