Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult Take on Domestic Terrorism in Venice Debut of ‘The Order’

Jude Law is starring as an FBI agent in the film "The Order," which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Directed by Justin Kurzel, the movie is an adaptation of Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt's nonfiction book "The Silent Brotherhood." Nicolas Hoult plays Robert Jay Mathews, the leader of the white supremacist group known as The Order, which was considered the most radical hate group since the Ku Klux Klan. The group's criminal activities in 1983 led to one of the largest manhunts in FBI history.

Law, along with co-stars Hoult, Jurnee Smollett, and Tye Sheridan, portrays Agent Huss, a character they describe as representing a broader societal perspective rather than being based on a specific individual. The film, which seeks to capture the dramatic tension of 1970s thrillers, is currently in competition at the Venice Film Festival and is set for release later this year by Vertical Entertainment.
