Jordanian Charged with Bomb Threats and Attacking Florida Businesses Over Israel Support

Hashem Younis Hashem Hnaihen, a Jordanian citizen living in Orlando, Florida, has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including four counts of threatening to use explosives and one count of destruction of an energy facility. Hnaihen is accused of targeting businesses in Orlando and a solar energy facility in Wedgefield, Florida, due to their perceived support for Israel. The damage to the solar facility is estimated to exceed $700,000.

According to prosecutors, Hnaihen left "warning letters" threatening violence against businesses and government entities that he believed supported Israel. He also allegedly attempted to purchase a firearm by providing false information. Hnaihen is currently detained pending trial and could face up to 60 years in prison if convicted on all charges. The U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida has condemned the actions as unacceptable.
