Jake Gyllenhaal Serenades ‘SNL’ Finale with Boyz II Men Tune
Jake Gyllenhaal graced the stage as the host of the Season 49 finale of "Saturday Night Live," delivering a musical monologue that included a performance of Boyz II Men's "End of the Road." In his opening, Gyllenhaal humorously remarked that he was not the first choice for the finale, referencing other celebrities who were approached before him. Joining him in the musical number were SNL cast members Kenan Thompson, Ego Nwodim, Punkie Johnson, and Devon Walker.
The evening marked Gyllenhaal's third time hosting the show. During the episode, he participated in several sketches, with a parody of the HGTV show "Property Brothers," titled "Dream Home Cousins," being particularly memorable. The actor is currently involved in a new project, an Apple TV+ series "Presumed Innocent," which is an adaptation of Scott Turow’s bestselling novel.
As SNL closed out its 49th season, Gyllenhaal joked about wishing he were hosting the 50th season finale instead, teasing the upcoming milestone for the long-running series. The 50th season of SNL is anticipated to conclude in 2024.
