Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio fatally shot during 26th birthday celebration in Tampa

Jacksonville rapper Charles Jones, known as Julio Foolio, was fatally shot in Tampa, Florida, early Sunday morning while celebrating his 26th birthday. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Tampa North near the University of South Florida. Jones, along with three other individuals, was ambushed while attempting to get a room at the hotel. One person was killed at the scene, and the other three victims were taken to local hospitals with gunshot wounds. The condition of the injured individuals is reported to be stable.

Jones' attorney, Lewis Fusco, confirmed the rapper's death and noted that the party had been evicted from an Airbnb due to overcrowding before relocating to the Holiday Inn. Jones, who had previously survived two shooting incidents in Jacksonville, was known for his controversial drill rap videos. The Tampa Bay Police Department is currently investigating the shooting and seeking additional surveillance footage to identify potential suspects.
