Insta360 GO 3S Debuts as Tiny 4K Action Camera

Insta360 has launched the GO 3S, an upgraded version of its GO 3 action camera. The new model offers 4K video recording at 30 frames per second, improved from the previous 2.7K limit. It features a new chip with 50 percent more processing power, enabling higher video bitrates and a new MegaView field-of-view for enhanced image quality. The camera can also record slow-motion footage at 1080p resolution at 200fps or 2.7K at 100fps. Additionally, the GO 3S includes a new Interval Video mode, allowing users to capture clips at custom intervals.

The GO 3S retains the compact design of its predecessor and adds several new functionalities. It is now compatible with Apple's Find My network, making it easier to locate if misplaced. The camera is waterproof up to 33 feet, has a wide-angle lens for less distorted footage, and features an AI gesture control for hands-free operation. Battery life for the GO 3S is rated at 140 minutes for 1080p video at 30fps and 122 minutes for 4K at 30fps. The Action Pod, which serves as the camera's housing, remote control, and charger, remains unchanged.

The new camera is available globally, with pricing set at $399 for the 64GB model and $429 for the 128GB model in the United States. In addition to its enhanced video capabilities, the GO 3S also supports Dolby Vision and offers features like Quick File Transfer and an Instant Preview notification, making it a versatile tool for action and travel vlogging. The standard bundle includes accessories such as a magnet pendant, easy clip, and lens guard.
