HBO Orders 8-Episode Green Lantern Series
HBO has given a straight-to-series order for an eight-episode drama titled "Lanterns," based on DC Comics' Green Lantern characters. The series will be produced by Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, with Chris Mundy serving as showrunner. Mundy will co-write the series with Damon Lindelof and Tom King, who will also serve as executive producers.
The storyline of "Lanterns" will follow two members of the Green Lantern Corps, John Stewart and Hal Jordan, as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. This series marks the first live-action project created specifically for DC Studios under the leadership of co-chairmen and co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. No casting information has been released yet.
