Frontier Airlines expands network with new routes and $19 fares

Frontier Airlines is expanding its network with the addition of seven direct flights from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), offering introductory fares starting at $19 for a roundtrip. These new flights are anticipated to introduce more competition to the airport, which has been predominantly served by American Airlines, responsible for 90% of the daily flights from Charlotte. The expansion positions Frontier as the second-largest carrier at the airport, trailing behind Southwest and Delta. Despite the low starting fares, customers should be aware that Frontier typically charges additional fees for various services, including carry-on baggage.

Additionally, Frontier is introducing new nonstop routes from Detroit Metro Airport and Grand Rapids, with the Detroit routes to Baltimore-Washington International Airport and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport commencing on April 10 with four flights weekly. The Grand Rapids service is slated to begin on May 16. To take advantage of the promotional rates, tickets must be booked by January 25 and are valid for travel until June 5. The airline's expansion strategy doesn't stop at domestic flights; it also includes additional routes across the United States from coast to coast and extends to three Caribbean airports.
