Former Hochul aide Linda Sun and husband Chris Hu arrested by FBI

Linda Sun, former deputy chief of staff to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, and her husband, Chris Hu, were arrested by FBI agents following a search of their Long Island home. The charges against the couple remain under seal, and they are scheduled to appear before a federal judge in Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon. The couple's $3.5 million home in Manhasset was previously searched by the FBI in July.

Sun, who worked in state government for about 15 years, served as a liaison to minority communities under the Cuomo administration and later as Hochul's deputy chief of staff. She was fired in March 2023 from her position as deputy commissioner for strategic business development at the New York State Department of Labor after evidence of misconduct was discovered. The couple's home was placed in a trust earlier this year.
