Ford Shifts to F-Series Production at Oakville Plant in Canada

Ford Motor Co. has announced plans to begin production of its F-Series Super Duty pickup trucks at the Oakville Assembly plant in Ontario, Canada, starting in 2026. The automaker will invest $3 billion to expand production, with $2.3 billion allocated for assembly and integrated stamping operations at the Oakville facility. This expansion aims to produce up to 100,000 units of the Super Duty pickups annually.

The move is anticipated to support 1,800 jobs at the Oakville plant, with workers represented by Unifor expected to return to work by 2027. Additionally, around 150 jobs will be added to the Windsor Engine Complex, which will manufacture more V8 engines for the trucks. Ford's decision to expand Super Duty production in Canada comes in response to high demand driven by infrastructure spending and construction activity. The company also produces these trucks at plants in Kentucky and Ohio.
