Firefighters Battle Miami Apartment Blaze, Find Critically Shot Resident
A fire broke out at the Temple Court Apartments in Miami early Monday morning, which may have been preceded by a shooting. The building, located at 431 NW 3rd Street and built in 1920, saw firefighters responding to a blaze that started on the third floor. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a person with a gunshot wound, who was subsequently transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
The fire has led to the evacuation of over 50 residents from the 61-unit building, situated near Interstate 95. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez described it as the largest residential fire in the city in the last 25 years. The fire crews are working to contain the flames and manage the aftermath. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and police have not confirmed the initial reports linking the fire to the shooting.
