Euphoria Actress Hunter Schafer Detained at Pro-Palestine Rally
During a protest at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, "Euphoria" star Hunter Schafer was among the individuals arrested. The demonstration, which coincided with President Joe Biden's appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” was in response to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas that escalated on October 7, 2023. Schafer, participating with the progressive activist group Jewish Voice for Peace, was reportedly advocating for Palestinian freedom and justice.
The New York Police Department detained 30 protesters from the rally, issuing summonses for trespass and disorderly conduct to some. The group was vocal in their opposition to the current ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict, with Schafer and others visibly demonstrating with signs and slogans. Jewish Voice for Peace, through their social media, called for a ceasefire and critiqued President Biden's policy on the matter, urging him to heed the American public's views rather than the Israeli government's stance.
