Eminem Reveals Summer 2024 Release for Album 'The Death of Slim Shady'

Eminem has revealed plans for his upcoming twelfth studio album, "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)," scheduled for release in the summer of 2024. The announcement was made amid his appearance at the NFL Draft in Detroit, where he was seen opening the event alongside NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. A trailer for the album, titled "Detroit Murder Files," was shared, which includes a narrative framing the death of Eminem's controversial alter ego, Slim Shady, known for his provocative lyrics.

This forthcoming album marks Eminem's first full album release since "Music to Be Murdered By" in January 2020, which achieved commercial success by topping the Billboard 200 chart and featuring the hit single "Godzilla" with Juice Wrld. The teaser for "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)" hints at a transformation and a final blow to the rapper's notorious persona. The video also features appearances from his long-time collaborator, 50 Cent.

Dr. Dre, another of Eminem's long-time collaborators, has expressed enthusiasm about the new project, suggesting that the album contains exciting material. This album also signifies a return to a more traditional album release strategy for Eminem, who has previously opted for surprise album drops, as seen with his two projects in 2018 and 2020.
