Earth Defense Force 6 Set for Western Launch on July 25

D3 Publisher and developer Sandlot have announced that Earth Defense Force 6 will be released on July 25, 2024, in North America and Europe for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms. The game, which is a continuation of the series, will be priced at $59.99 for the Standard Edition and $89.99 for the Deluxe Edition, which includes additional content. Set three years after its predecessor in 2027, Earth Defense Force 6 will see players defending Earth from aggressive extraterrestrial invaders in the aftermath of a war that decimated 90 percent of the population.

The game promises a significant amount of new content, including hundreds of missions, a wide array of weapons, and the ability to play as one of four different soldier classes. Players can engage in the game solo, join a friend for split-screen action, or team up with up to four players online. The Deluxe Edition also offers 24 hours of early access to the game for those who pre-order.

Pre-orders for Earth Defense Force 6 are now live on the PlayStation Store, and a discount is available for PS Plus members. The announcement follows the game's earlier release in Japan in 2022 and includes new downloadable content (DLC) featuring Hololive Vtubers as in-game equipment. The early purchase incentive allows pre-order customers to gain 24-hour early access to the game and a Wing Diver jetpack, with the offer available until December 24, 2024. The PC system requirements for the game have not yet been disclosed.
