Dune: Prophecy Teaser Unveils Prequel Series and Fall Premiere
Max has unveiled the teaser trailer for "Dune: Prophecy," an original drama series that serves as a prequel to the Dune film franchise, exploring events 10,000 years prior to the birth of Paul Atreides. The narrative focuses on two Harkonnen sisters, Valya and Tula, as they combat existential threats to humanity and lay the foundations for the Bene Gesserit, a powerful and influential sisterhood.
The show, inspired by the novel "Sisterhood of Dune" by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, features an ensemble cast including Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, and a host of other actors. Alison Schapker helms the series as showrunner and executive producer, with Diane Ademu-John as a co-developer and director of multiple episodes.
Scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2024, "Dune: Prophecy" will unfold over six episodes, although an exact release date has not been confirmed. The series is a collaborative production between Max and Legendary Television, the latter also being involved in the production of the Dune film series.
