Delta Force: Hawk Ops Combines Black Hawk Down and Call of Duty Elements in Free-to-Play FPS

Delta Force: Hawk Ops, a new entry in the Delta Force series, has been announced by Tencent and is being developed by Team Jade, known for their work on Call of Duty Mobile. The game, which is set for release in 2025, has already garnered over 1 million pre-registrations. Hawk Ops will feature a combination of multiplayer modes and a single-player campaign based on the original 2003 Black Hawk Down campaign. The game will also include an extraction mode designed for beginners and a more challenging Tactical Turmoil mode, where players can either play solo or in squads of three, adapting their tactics to survive.

Team Jade's Head of Studio, Leo Yao, acquired the assets from the original developer NovaLogic in 2016 and has expanded the game into three distinct experiences: a large-scale, team-based PvP mode, an extraction shooter, and a single-player campaign. The single-player campaign will incorporate footage from the Ridley Scott film, Black Hawk Down. Players will be able to choose from four different characters, each with unique abilities, weapons, and tools, with extensive customization options available for weapons and costumes.

Delta Force: Hawk Ops will be available on multiple platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games and Steam), and mobile devices (iOS and Android). An alpha test for PC players is scheduled for July 2024. The game aims to deliver a challenging and intense FPS experience, with a focus on tactical gameplay and realism. It also features reactive difficulty in its online multiplayer mode, which adjusts based on the player's skill level.
