Dell introduces new Snapdragon X Series in XPS 13 and other laptops

Dell has unveiled a new lineup of laptops featuring Qualcomm's Snapdragon X chips, including the XPS 13, Inspiron 14, Inspiron 14 Plus, Latitude 7455, and Latitude 5455. The new Snapdragon X Elite chip, which is part of the lineup, aims to compete with high-performance laptops such as Apple's MacBook series by addressing battery life and thermal throttling issues. Dell's Inspiron 14 Plus will include a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU and Adreno GPU, supporting up to 1TB SSD and featuring a 14-inch QHD+ anti-glare IPS touchscreen. These laptops are also set to support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for enhanced connectivity.

Dell's move represents a significant shift away from Intel processors, highlighting the company's focus on leveraging ARM-based technology to improve performance and efficiency. The Latitude 7455, designed for business users, will come with features such as quad speakers, dual microphones, optional 5G connectivity, and comprehensive security measures. The entire range of new laptops is available for preorder now, with full releases expected later in the year.
