Darby crossing guard arrested for supplying middle schoolers with marijuana and e-cigarettes

Kiara Lee, a 26-year-old crossing guard from Delaware County, has been charged with distributing electronic cigarettes and substances containing suspected marijuana to students at Penn Wood Middle School. The incident was reported on May 16 by Penn Wood High School Principal Myishing Cox to the Darby Borough Police Department. A student informed the principal about seeing Lee provide vapes to other students and shared their own experiences with her. A second student witness confirmed seeing Lee in possession of marijuana.

Following an investigation, authorities found text messages between Lee and the student detailing their experiences with marijuana edibles. Lee has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and corruption of minors. The District Attorney and Darby Borough Chief have encouraged families to report any further information or concerns regarding their children's interactions with Lee. Lee is currently held on $20,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on June 14.
